Terms & Conditions for Boards

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Boards mobile application on iOS and Android (the "App"), operated by Boards ("Boards," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Boards. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

To use Boards, you must create an account using a valid email address, or by using Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User Content

A. Ownership

You retain ownership of all photos, comments, and other content you create and upload to Boards ("User Content").

B. License to Boards

By posting User Content, you grant Boards a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App, including displaying your content to users based on your privacy settings.

4. Content Visibility

You may choose to make posts public or friends-only. You are responsible for selecting appropriate visibility settings. Public content may be visible beyond your immediate friend network.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to post or share content that:

• Is illegal, abusive, or harmful
• Is sexually explicit or exploitative
• Harasses, threatens, or impersonates others
• Infringes intellectual property rights
• Contains malware or attempts to disrupt the App

You also agree not to:

• Access accounts or data not your own
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the App
• Use the App for unlawful purposes

6. Content Moderation & Enforcement

Boards may use automated systems, including Google Cloud Vision, to analyze uploaded content for potential violations.

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict visibility, or suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion.

7. Push Notifications & Emails

Boards may send functional push notifications (likes, comments, friend activity) and authentication-related emails (verification, password resets). Push notifications can be disabled through device settings.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the platform or other users.

9. Third-Party Services

Sign in with Google / Apple. Boards offers Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple (Apple Sign-In is available on iOS) as account creation and login options. Authentication through these providers is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Music (Apple iTunes). Boards uses Apple's iTunes Search API to let you search for and add 30-second music previews to boards. Apple is an independent third party, and your use of Apple-provided content is subject to Apple's own terms and content policies. Previews and album art are streamed directly from Apple's servers; Boards does not host or own this music. Track metadata (title, artist, album art) is stored with your board so the music can be replayed by you and other board members. Some older boards may still play previews from a prior provider (Deezer) saved with that earlier content.

Crash and Analytics Services. Boards uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) for error reporting and feature usage measurement. See the Privacy Policy for details on what is collected.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." Boards makes no warranties regarding availability, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boards shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the App, User Content, or unauthorized access to your account.

Your sole remedy is to stop using the App.

12. Changes to the App or Terms

We may modify or discontinue the App or update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
